#118 (of 365) "Shine a Light" Wolf Parade

There are Dan songs and there are Spencer songs in the Wolf Parade catalog. They also have a couple shared tracks but basically the Dan songs sound like Boeckner's music and Spencer songs sound like his. I have always been partial to the Spencer songs, despite having tremendous respect for Dan's music. Spencer's side projects (Sunset Rubdown, Moonface) have produced some all time favorites of mine while Dan's (Handsome Furs, Divine Fits) have failed to. All of this is a long way to say that of the 7 Wolf Parade tracks to make this list, only 2 were written by Boeckner. This is his highest, and as a result, my favorite Dan song ever. It might also (if I remember correctly) be the first ever Wolf Parade song I heard. It still rips.
