#144 (of 365) "Lovely Allen" Holy Fuck

When I used to run multiple 5Ks a year, back before knee issues and assorted other issues derailed my running schedule, I would run with headphones in, wearing a postage-stamp sized iPod called a Shuffle that stored only a few hundred songs or so, but I would load up a specific "Run" playlist featuring heart-pumping songs to inspire me to push past the pain and exhaustion and attempt to get my best time. My PR for my 5Ks was in the 23-minute range, if I recall--I was not a fast runner, and this happened in my 30s, well after peak young performance, when I played sports and didn't "run for fun". But on every run, on every playlist shuffled through my ears, this track from the amazing band Holy Fuck would appear. It's one of the great "run full out to the finish line" songs ever. And one of my favorite songs of all time.
