#147 (of 365) "Up On Your Leopard, Upon the End of Your Feral Days" Sunset Rubdown

In 2007, Spencer Krug's side project, Sunset Rubdown, released its 2nd album. This followed his undeniable 2005-06 where he released his main band Wolf Parade's perfect Apologies for the Queen Mary, his Sunset Rubdown debut, and a third side project Swan Lake with the album Beast Moans. So to say I was excited to hear the new Sunset Rubdown was a bit of an understatement. But I was unprepared for what was to come. Not only was it my favorite album of the year, but one of the greatest of all time (right up there with Apologies). Spencer became my muse, my hero, my most watched musician in concert, and I obsessed over every alternate track or demo I could get a hand on. I was obsessed. And it was wonderful.

It's been 18 years since Random Spirit Lover and some of the luster is gone. Only 3 tracks from this album mad the list and one has already been revealed. I don't go to Spencer as much in my weekly or monthly playlists. And I miss the joy of the early 00s indie rock explosion that Spencer (to me) was the best participant in. But I still love this song.
