#163 (of 365) "Alexander the Pretty Good" Be Still, Cody

Be Still, Cody was an emo band from Virginia that was on the same label as The World is a Beautiful Place, which is how I discovered them and their sound, and their debut EP came out in 2013 (same as Whenever, If Ever). Bumfuck Nowhere consisted of four songs and two of them ended up on this countdown, in the top 200. That's pretty crazy impressive for a debut. And the other two tracks are pretty great too. They followed up with a full-length called The Mariner in 2014, which had several solid tracks and then--poof--they were gone. I discovered them after all of this, probably in the late 2010s, and I'm just glad I did. I hope they went onto bigger and better things, but man, this music just speaks to me.
