#178 (of 365) "Lola Who?" Plants and Animals

One of the best "slow builds" ever recorded, this song builds and builds and builds and kind of never explodes, but man the tension that the band pulls together is incredible. Their followup full-length has a song that perfects the crescendo and is much higher on this list, as this track is let down by its anticlimactic ending, but the first 4/5th  are so good it makes it all worthwhile .
