#181 (of 365) "Apistat Commander (Xiu Xiu)" Sunset Rubdown

At the absolute peak of his power, when I fell in love with anything Spencer Krug recorded, he added a single to a covers album of Xiu Xiu songs (which exists, for some reason?) and came up with this absolutely perfect rendition of a pretty good original. I hadn't been a fan of Xiu Xiu until the covers album, I think, and I became a (brief) fan, because they had some good music, but yeah, this song was transformed by the power of Krug (pronounced Kroog) and here it sits on the top half of my list.
