#204 (of 365) "Tugboat" Galaxie 500

Galaxie 500 formed in the late 80s as a shoe gaze/slow core band that released three albums from 1988 to 1991 then promptly disbanded. Dean Wareham went on to front Luna, which is when I first discovered him ("Hedgehog" was on all my playlists in the mid 90s) but his original band became highly influential to shoe gaze and indie rock bands of the 90s and to this day. I have to confess I didn't really know the band (or this song) until it appeared on the soundtrack to 2012's The Perks of Being a Wallflower (good movie, very good book). But it was (and is) a masterpiece of musical composition.
