#235 (of 365) "Forever Now" Psychedelic Furs

Back in college, when I fell in love with alternative music for the first time, there was a progression of my introduction to new wave/alternative faves of the 80s. First came the Cure, summer 89. Then The Replacements, later in the summer. Then when I was in college that fall and winter, I think it went Depeche Mode, The Smiths, The Psychedelic Furs, and New Order. With the exception of Depeche Mode, and probably substituting in U2, those 5 bands were my life as an undergraduate, just my top 5 fave bands that could do no wrong in my world, although most of them were long past their greatness as artists. On this countdown, the collection of 6 bands from that time (U2, Psych Furs, The Cure, The Smiths, New Order, and The Replacements) still have a lot of songs, with each of them charting at least 6 tracks, an impressive feat from my initial love some 35 years ago. But U2 only had one track. And the Psychedelic Furs only have 2. This one and one of their more famous ones to come (featured heavily in a John Hughes movie title...). Anyway, there were so many songs from the band that I used to love, so many that could have rightfully made this countdown, but this one, of the album of the same name from way back in 1982, was the best of the bunch (other than the Molly Ringwald one).
