#237 (of 365) "Assisted Harakiri" Home is Where

It's fitting that I reach my first Home is Where song on the countdown the week that their latest album has released. The band is one of my newer finds in my decades of indie music love, a "4th wave emo" band (or is 5th wave?) that burst onto the scene in 2021 and that I discovered with the amazing The Whaler in 2023. So far, on my first couple listens to Hunting Season, which just came out in May, they are missing the exuberance of their first full-length but often the first couple listens can be misleading and I really have high hopes for the band, one of my best live experiences of 2023--in the Elsewhere basement with maybe 50 other (mostly young--like teenage young) fans of the band that exploded into my conscious that summer. It's rare that I fall in love with a band like that so fast these days. And this song is a good reason why.
