#253 (of 365) "Time Trap" Built to Spill

Built to Spill's first album, Ultimate Alternative Wavers, is pretty forgettable. Then Doug Martsch and his rotating band of backup artists produced one of if not the most incredible three-album run in the history of music. There is Nothing Wrong with Love -- mostly short, simple pop songs about love, pretty much perfect throughout. Perfect From Now On -- long, guitar-heavy prog-rock influenced tracks that is considered one of the greatest indie rock albums of all time. Then, the first album that I heard, 1999's Keep it Like a Secret, which somehow, amazingly seemed to merge the disparate sounds of the two previous albums into a masterpiece. Not to spoil the top of this countdown, but Keep it Like a Secret feature heavily in the top 20 of all time for me. "Time Trap" is the only other track from that album to make the chart, although bangers like "Else", "You Were Right", "Center of the Universe" and "Sidewalk" round out the record. And surprisingly (to me), this album ended up with the most BTS tracks of any of his on this countdown, with 3.
