#255 (of 365) "Sugar Kane" Sonic Youth

Sonic Youth is one of the greatest rock bands of all time, and the three-album string of Daydream Nation, Goo, and Dirty from 1988 to 1992 were formative in my love and appreciation of the "alternative" of true alternative music. I still loved them for the rest of the 90s and they legitimately could have had ten or more songs on this countdown, but my interest waned, as these things do, in the next 2 decades, so they only ended up with a mere three songs here. We've already seen "Purr" at 280, and we won't see their next track for many, many months, so I just want to pause and appreciate the wonder of Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon, Lee Ranaldo, and crew and all that they did for my formative years of music.
