#264 "Nothing Hurts" Wavves x Cloud Nothings

Cloud Nothings has been one of my favorite bands since their debut album some 15 years ago. Wavves, a more punk-pop contemporary with a bigger following, escaped my interest until much more recently, but has since become a fave. The two bands put together a joint album release in 2015, which wasn't like a split EP or anything with each band contributing a couple songs--this is a full length album with both bands playing on the same songs and it is truly amazing both that this happened, that two of my (now) favorite bands did this together, and that the songs are so good. They played a show together a couple years back at Le Poisson Rouge, with Cloud Nothings opening for Wavves, and while the show was incredible, I don't think either band played any of the songs from this album, which was disappointing. But we will always have this perfect 2015 release.
