#300 (of 365) "The Trapeze Swinger" Iron & Wine

When I decided to start this list, more than 65 days ago, I thought it might be an interesting way to re-engage with the blog, and perhaps create some engagement in this in-between period between novels. I'm working on my follow-up to The Best Hardcore Band in PA, nearly finished, but it will need to find an agent and a publisher and then upwards of 18 months before it's published so we're talking 2 years from now at the least and I wanted writing to reach readers before then. Or at least to put a bunch of stuff out there for people to read. As far as I can tell, my hits on the website have definitely increased since I started posting regularly (for the first time in almost a decade) but not enough for it to matter (yet). I've considered maybe creating a Substack, so these get emailed instead but I'm not sure who--besides my friends--I would add to the email list, but I'm also aware blogging in 2025 is probably one of the least effective ways to build an audience. I could do a podcast or a YouTube channel but this is mostly happening because it's easy to carve out a few minutes to write about a song/band that I absolutely love and would take way more time to craft an audio or video experience that would be difficult to find an audience for anyway. So... this is what I'm doing, for at least 300 more days, with the intention to end with #1 at the end of 2025. Thanks to anyone who's been following along. I do appreciate it greatly.
