#302 (of 365) "(Nothing But) Flowers" Talking Heads

I have had an "All Time" list on my Apple Music for almost 2 decades now, because I remember getting iTunes with my first iPod in 2004 (I distinctly remember Modest Mouse's "Float On"--get a free copy on iTunes when buy a Pepsi, and that led to the iPod purchase) and as is quite evident here, I love making lists, so pretty shortly thereafter, I started compiling my favorite songs of all time. Back when I had the super popular Vague Space blog, my multiple posts (including mp3's) of that "All Time" list (which I think was capped at 200, back then) was my most popular posts on the blog. I repeated in years later, and even on here several years ago. So for this list, I had a solid foundation of tracks that were at least annually updated (when each year's favorite songs were added). But since I started posting each song of the 365 with a blurb, I've been taking to really focusing on what songs/artists that were not in the original "All Time" file but probably needed to be. There has been some significant shuffling, particularly at the lower end of the list, as songs that have probably been on the list for 2 decades (cough "Everyday is Like Sunday" cough) have fallen off and been replaced by newer or in many cases, more classic tracks that I felt belonged more. In the making of the sausage, I've also thought of bands that deserved to be on here but maybe weren't and one of those was definitely Talking Heads, the definitive 80s alternative act that released a number of songs I have long loved but wasn't in fact, on the initial rendition of the countdown. So then it became -- okay, which song(s) did I want to put on here, from the obvious ("Psycho Killer", "And She Was") to the more obscure. Ultimately, I kept coming back to this track, from their eighth and final studio album Naked, released in 1988, a song I loved at the time and honestly never stopped loving. The band definitely made greater albums, and arguably greater songs, but for me, this one is my favorite, and the only song to make this list.
