#304 (of 365) "Last Known Surroundings" Explosions in the Sky

Explosions in the Sky play gorgeous, melodic, guitar-heavy post-rock music and got kind of famous for soundtracking Friday Night Lights in the early 2000s. Their first two albums are about as perfect of post-rock / indie rock records that anyone could ever make, and while they have turned almost exclusively to soundtracking movies and shows I've never seen, they have made time for two new records in the past decade. Unfortunately, these have not been, at least to me, up to par with their earlier work. In fact, "Last Known Surroundings," from their 2011 release, is the "latest" EITS song to make this chart. One of their five songs on this list.
