#308 (of 365) "I Turned out a Punk" Big Audio Dynamite

So I'm a little too young to have followed the first wave of PUNK ROCK from the 70s--the British version with The Sex Pistols and The Clash, or the American version with the Ramones and the hardcore that followed, Minor Threat or Black Flag. The New Wave that followed--poppier alternative music is kind of what I grew up on, at least from high school forward, with New Order, The Cure, Psych Furs etc. and that wave featured Clash co-founder Mick Jones forming Big Audio Dynamite (after Joe Strummer kicked him out of the band he co-founded). I think I heard the B.A.D. songs before I ever heard the Clash, and while I admire all those punk bands from the 70s and at one time, got really into the Sex Pistols, none of those formative artists have made this list, except Mick Jones' follow up band. I'm not sure what that says of me as an indie rock fan but it's not like I have the Beatles or Stones on this list either. I like what I like, and I've always loved this song.
