#315 (of 365) "Graceless" The National

I've already discussed The National on this list, but I don't think I mentioned how fun they were live. Back in my younger years, which I was still living in central Jersey, I used to go to as many shows in Philly as in NYC, since it was about an hour to each place and in Philly, I usually had company, as my friend lived near there and loved to go to shows. I know we saw The National at least once at Mann Theater, which is a semi-outdoor venue (with a roof) at Fairmount Park in Philly, where we saw several shows but The National, for whatever reason, are most memorable. It's a drive from the entrance to the venue, through and through and around the park, with parking sometimes in mud or on fields (Philly is much more car-centric than Manhattan, one of the big reasons I moved up here) and then a bit of a hike to the show, but it was always magical, outside in the sun (at the start), watching an amazing performance as the sun went down, loud and screaming along to some of my favorite songs. Only four The National songs made this list and we are already through two of them, this being the most recent release, from 2013's Trouble Will Find Me, arguably their last good piece of music. But for a time there, before they got too popular, I really loved their shows.
