#327 (of 365) "Teenage FBI" Guided by Voices

Guided by Voices started as a bar band in the 80s and gained indie rock prominence on 1994's seminal Bee Thousand. Ever since the success of that record, Bob Pollard and his on-again, off-again bandmates have been cranking out music pretty much nonstop. According to Wikipedia, Pollard has written 1600+ songs across dozens of records, which--I'll be honest--I stopped attempting to keep up with at least a decade ago or more. I've seen them live a couple times and it's a very long, rousing performance for a pretty old lead singer (quite a bit older than me), sprinkling in songs I never heard before with the all-time gems. Most of their tracks are short and sweet. Many have pop-tune overtones and four of them ended up on this countdown, two off Bee Thousand, one off Under the Bushes, Under the Stars and this one, the "latest" single of the band to grace this chart, even as it was released some 25 years.
