#52 (of 365) "Sugarcube" Yo La Tengo

Hoboken's own Yo La Tengo are one of the most experimental bands that I love, drifting wildly between albums from shoe gaze to guitar rock to cover songs to slow dirges to everything in between. Their catalog is so long and varied that for the past six or seven years, they open for themselves at live shows, playing their slower, almost acoustic, piano-based songs first (which I don't like as much) before taking a break and coming out for their "main set" consisting of more guitar-based rockers and their bigger hits. So this song, off one of their greatest albums, is quite simply, a perfect pop song, and just about makes my top 50 of all time.
