#67 (of 365) "You Go On Ahead (Trumpet Trumpet II)" Sunset Rubdown

Everything Spencer Krug made between 2005 and 2013 was the greatest music I've ever heard. Everything Spencer has made between 2014 and 2026 has been--forgettable? not great? Just different? It's tough to say. There were some pretty decent Wolf Parade records, but the revival of Sunset Rubdown, minus a bassist and inexplicably recording an album without a bassist was debatable, and his solo work in recent years hasn't left a mark on me. From 2005 and 2013 I really ate up everything he ever did, from Wolf Parade to Sunset Rubdown to Swan Lake to Moonface... just loved every bit of it. I miss it. His latest song just got released and the single has a picture of him holding his child, who looks to be 7 or 8. Times change. We all grow and get older. If we're lucky. And I'm lucky to have loved so many of his songs for so long.
