I don't know if it's canon that this is a "coming out" song but for me, circa 1990, when I discovered The Smiths in college and was very much in the closet, it was a miracle. The words spoken directly to me, into my veins. Yes, I have to preface with how problematic Morrissey has become in the last several decades, but this song meant the world to me then. It still holds up today.
